UNIFORM and DRESS CODE Uniforms help alleviate peer pressure and give a sense of group spirit. They also prove less expensive in the long run, as parents do not need to spend money on the latest styles. Students at West Coast Christian wear uniforms to school each day, including to and from school. Each student needs two uniforms: a regular uniform and a PE uniform. In the case of special activity or non-uniform days, teachers will notify parents and students in advance. Each student, on their first day of school, must wear their regular uniform and present the complete PE uniform for inspection. WCCS expects students to comply with the standard of uniform and dress as described for their grade level on the following pages. In situations where the standard is unclear, the final decision will be at the principal’s discretion. Infractions may result in detentions. Cambridge & Company is our uniform supplier. All items marked with an asterisk (*) must be purchased from Cambridge; other items may be purchased elsewhere. New students must visit the uniform store for an initial fitting. New students registered for school in September should schedule an appointment by the preceding 15th of July. Records of all purchases are kept on file at the store, so subsequent orders may be placed by phone and can be delivered to the school. Please clearly label all uniform pieces with your child’s name. You can purchase custom iron-on labels from Cambridge & Company or use a permanent marker or pen. At the end of the school year, a used uniform sale will be organized for parents who would like to buy or sell used uniforms. Used uniforms may also be donated at anytime during the school year. Donated items are available (no cost) on a first-come, first-served basis through the uniform coordinator.
