ESCAPE:  EMPLOYMENT, SKILLS, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, ARTS, PHYSICAL EDUCATION

ESCAPE is a component of our high school educational program which integrates Employment, Skills, Community involvement, the Arts, and Physical Education. Students engage in projects where they are entrusted with responsibility, learn leadership, apply knowledge, and are mentored by godly adults. They receive a wealth of life experiences and transferrable skills.

Due to our small class sizes, each student actively participates in all ESCAPE activities. At WCCS, we encourage our students to stretch themselves and expand their horizons.

Over the course of their high school career at WCCS, students will receive training in each of the key elements of ESCAPE.

Employment
Students are involved in career planning and receive 90 hours of job shadowing and/or work experience.

Skills
Students gain experience in practical skills such as baking, plumbing/electrical, and financial planning. They will also receive FOODSAFE & First Aid training.

Community Involvement
Students participate in local volunteering, outreach, and service.

Arts
Students take part in drama, choir, and lessons from professional artists.

P. E.
Students play competitive sports, as well as participate in outdoor recreation activities like hiking, camping, sailing, and canoeing.

ESCAPE moves beyond the retention of knowledge, providing the wisdom gained through application and experience. This approach helps students to apply the knowledge they learn, develop into well-rounded individuals, and prepare for the future God has for them.
