High School

 
Grades 8-12

Students in the high school classes build strong relationships with peers and teachers, and take part in many extra experiences outside of regular classes. All requirements for BC graduation and for university entrance are available. 
Our program offers the following courses and activities. 

Grade 8/9 
Academic core: English, Math, Social Studies, Science, French 
Non-Academic courses: PE, Applied Skills, Drama, Art, Music, Bible, Career & Personal Planning 

Grade 10-12 
Requirements: English, Math 10/11, SS 10/11, Science 10,11, Planning 10, PE 10, Fine Arts or Applied Skills 10, Bible 10-12 
Electives: Drama, Music, and Art 10-12, PE 11/12, Information Technology 11, Chemistry 11/12, Biology 11/12, Physics 11, French 10-12, Literature 12, History 12 
NB: A few courses are offered as on-line courses.
Grade 10-12 students write provincial exams. The schedule can be found by going to www.bced.gov.bc.ca and clicking on “provincial exams”. Students should keep a record of their PEN (personal education number) w
 
hich will give them access to their exam scores and transcripts. 

 
Other School Activities
To help round out our school life and build great memories for students we offer: 
  • Sports and tournaments 
  • Drama and musical performances 
  • Student trips
 High school students are expected to contribute to the life of the school and community through volunteer service, cross-grade programs with younger classes, and leadership in school assemblies

 Some students develop leadership skills by attending Student Leadership Conferences put on by ACSI, as well as opportunities to give leadership in planning church conferences and other events for school fundraising.

LIBRARY USE
High School students do not have a regular library class, but may ask their teacher for time in the library on Thursdays to look for books and for help with assignments and projects.

COMPUTER LAB
The computer lab is available to Grade 9/10 ICT class and to all high school students (with teacher’s permission).

 a teacher must be present in order to use the computers.

 every student will be given a copy of the school’s Acceptable Computer Use Policy and must sign the agreement page before having access to the computer network.
 students may use their own laptops when authorized by a teacher (all rules apply).
